International Folklore Festival "Na megdana"

Terms of the Folk Dance Festival

1.ORGANIZERS

The festival is organized by  Municipality of Kameno and community centre (chitalishte) „Prosveta-1927“.

The festival is held under the patronage of the Mayor of Kameno.

2.AIM OF THE FESTIVAL

The festival aims to present to  the wide audience the music and dances of various regions of Bulgaria and the  cultural  heritage of different nations through the presentation of traditional folklore.

3.PLACE OF THE FESTIVAL

 Concerts will be held on open stages in town of Kameno and the district. Kameno is town in southeastern Bulgaria, part of Burgas Province. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous Kameno Municipality, which lies in the central part of the Province.

Groups accommodation will be in Sunny Beach. Sunny Beach is the largest and most popular beach resort in Bulgaria. It is a Blue Flag winning resort, located in a picturesque and ecologically clean gulf on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, close to the town of Nesebar, the yacht port of St. Vlas resort and the international airport of Varna (30 km). Sunny Beach is situated along the widest beach strip. With its hundreds of bars and restaurants, multiple entertainment and shops and its developed infrastructure, the resort attracts thousands of tourists from around the world. The tourist season here lasts from May trough October.

4.PARTICIPATION

Condition for participation:

• In the festival can participate  folklore dance groups, vocal groups and instrumentalists from all over the world.
• There is no  limit for the number of participants.
• Music can be live or recorded ( cd)

The contestants are divided into three age groups:

• up to 12 years of age
• between 12 and 18 years of age
• over 18 years of age

 5. PERFORMANCES

The  groups will have performances on the following days- 5th June/ 6th June/ 7th June

 They  must prepare the following:

• 10 minutes performance for the opening and close ceremony
• Not more than 30 minutes performances for the main presentations

 Performances will take place in nearby places too.

 6. COMPETITION

 The festival has competitive character. Groups will be judged by  competent Jury .

All the participants will receive an honorary diploma.

For the 1st 2nd and 3rd place in each category money award will be given, as well as diploma and plaque.

 Prizes are provided by the Municipality of Kameno.

MONEY AWARDS

1st place-  500 euro

2nd place- 300 euro

3rd place- 200 euro

7. DURATION OF STAY

In the application form you have to note how long you would like to stay:

• during the whole festival - 1.06-8.06 ( Arrival on 1st June  and Departure on 8th June)
• only on the concert days-  4.06-8.06  (Arrival on 4th June and Departure on 8th June)
• more than the festival days- (In the application form you have to write the exact dates)

Your presence is necessary on the days of the concerts( 5.06/ 6.06/ 7.06)

8. COSTS

There is NO  participation fee.

Transportation and accommodation costs shall be paid by the participants.

Accommodation costs :

3 Star Hotel Accommodation – All the hotels are with swimming pool and arelocated in the central part of Sunny Beach in only 150 – 200 meters from the beach.

• 2 Times Meals (breacfast and dinner) – 20 EUR per person/ per day
• 3 Times Meals  (full board) – 23 EUR per person/ per day

For 20 participants, the 21st is free.  We can assist to any group that needs a visa to come to Bulgaria.

1. DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS

The Groups that want to participate in the festival have to fill out the application form and send it on the following e-mail until April 5, 2015

Official invitations will be sent by the Mayor of Kameno Municipality, to all groups which are eligible as participants.

After the official invitation the group has to pay 30% advance deposit to the organizer which will be deducted from the final payment.

10. FREE TIME

During the festival the foreign groups will have performances on the following days- 5.06/ 6.06/ 7.06.

 On the rest of the days the groups will have time for leisure activities, excursions, social evenings and  time for shopping.

 Excursions are  organized in nearby interesting and historic places:

Visit to St. Anastasia Island

Trip to Ancient City of Nessebar

Visit to the Action Aqua Park

Sightseeing and shopping tour to Burgas
